Local restauranteur, Ashley Gilliam of Graft approached us about creating a rustic and personalized gathering on the home land of Dillwood Farms, a local farm where she procures her deliciously fresh and seasonally-filled menu. She wanted to host a full five-course meal with wine pairing for some of her beloved regular restaurant goers to help demonstrate the beauty of a true farm-to-table experience. The concept was purposefully simple and understated in that we chose to only use florals found on Dillwood's property, with a sprinkling of candlelight and the surrounding land becoming the main adornment for the evening.
RIVER OAKS CHARLESTON - part I
A while back, I was approached by the ever growing North Carolina wedding magazine, Carolina Bride, to contribute to a new hardcover book they were producing.
In the often-overwhelming world of checklists, budgets, and timelines, Carolina Bride: Inspired Design for a Bespoke Affair is a breath of fresh air for the modern Southern bride seeking an artful and personal approach.
Carolina Bride highlights talented wedding artisans throughout the region, and across the country, by showcasing fashion, décor, and real Carolina weddings in a range of styles as diverse as Carolina brides themselves.
Heather Payne and I packed up the truck and drove to meet up with Marianne at Riveroaks Charleston to create a story of simple beauty from the perspective of three different brides. We teamed with Gossamer to showcase the elegant richness of vintage attire and embellishments.
Below is the graceful bride who loves tulle and Laboutines and smelling like fresh roses. She's bold, yet meekly understated - a true Southern maiden.

People say that something really powerful happens when you make the step from just thinking about your new year's goals resolutions to physically writing them down. It seems like a small step to be so full of weight - but I can be the first (among many, I'm sure) to attest to its genuine potency!
Working with talented Elisa Bricker and Lora Kelley this past year was one of those short scribbles of a dream that proved to be the jackpot that lead to it literally coming to pass. Gathering the glorious touch of a Maggie Austin cake, to the luxury-spilling gowns of Samuelle Couture, this shoot was more than a piece of paper laden with goals could have ever imagined. With the ever-inspirational grounds of Early Mountain Vineyards as our backdrop and canvas, I am so thankful and proud to share these stunning images to catapult us into a brand new year.

2013 has come and gone - and though it was a year full of newness and growth, it was also a year of bitter sweetness. Leaving my beloved home (Atlanta, GA) behind, to embark upon the mountain life of Boone with my favorite man and working hard on the little business that has become like our first child.
Though I learned a ton and stole away some wonderful memories that will never expire, I must admit that I'm happy to relinquish the 2013 year into the hands of the past. We summon a fresh season - walking forward into the beautiful unknown of 2014. It will get dusty and dirty - but it will be clear evidence of a well-trodden life along a narrow path.
2014 - HERE WE COME!
