GARDEN CITY // About the Project
Garden City was the title for the first teaching series in the new building at Grace Midtown in 2019. After completing the Awaken the Future campaign that raised over $3M to restore and build out their new property.
This short film was a creative endeavor to communicate the vision for the future of the church–a Garden City.
The Freedom sign, seen in the short film, was built 5 years prior to the new building being built by an artisan volunteer and lived on the roof of the original auditorium, which was built from old palette wood and became an iconic representation of the church.
In the Garden City short film, a beautiful full circle moment occurs to have the beloved and iconic sign moved to the front of the new building, and covered in overflowing plants to communicate the Garden City image coming into reality.
The series main graphic was a real-life cutout made with live plants and flowers from the new property appearing to grow through the words.
“A light shines in the darkness,
a garden grows into a city
As dust and breath co-mingle again
to create something beautiful.”
